I have just released a new free 3D model distribution site called Meshmell.
Meshmell is a site for downloading free 3D models. All models distributed on this site are under the CC0 (Creative Commons 0) license, which means they are free to use and can be utilized for commercial purposes.
While most current 3D model distribution sites are based on 2D web pages, our website allows for 3D operations right from the model overview page. This enables users to intuitively select and download models. The overview page offers three types of scrolling: depth scrolling, vertical scrolling, and horizontal scrolling (PC only), allowing users to choose the most convenient view for them.
Users can also change the environmental lighting and other settings using the weather toggle button. This feature lets users visually determine if the model fits their desired environment before downloading.
Users do not need to register an account or log in to download models.
I, the site administrator, will also be posting models. We redistribute models that are published under the CC0 license. Below are the models and their respective creator's websites.
I will continue to create and add models myself. We are also looking for people who are willing to provide models (only under the CC0 license).
We are considering crowdfunding. The purpose of raising funds is twofold:
