Aggressive Endings: High-Scoring Games as Seasons Close

In the NBA,it is said that at the end of such an NBA season, there tend to be many high-scoring games for both teams. This is because by the end of the season, there are few games left and the team rankings are almost set, so the offensive players are more likely to score points than win.

In general, more points scored by the offense will lead to a higher rating for the team than preventing the defense from scoring. It's kind of understandable that a team that scores a lot of points feels stronger. Some sports leagues have a system where you can draft from lower ranked teams ;making it easier to get good new players, and if you can't make the playoffs, you might as well lose and lose your ranking. And when you play in such an aggressive manner, it is easier for your team to score more points and for your opponent to score more points when they counter, so both you and your opponent's team will score more points.

So when you are betting on sports and predicting scores, you may want to take a large guess at the score at the end of the season than usual. As in basketball, in soccer, you might play more aggressively, or in baseball, you might try for more home runs at the end of the season, and so on.
