Niagara Power Plant: Harnessing Nature's Might

June 4, 2023

Niagara Falls, is a spectacular waterfall that you should visit at least once in your life. It is located on the border between Ontario, Canada and New York, USA. In the vicinity of Niagara Falls, hydroelectric power is generated using the difference in height and the flow of water. The Niagara Hydroelectric Power Plant was completed in 1895.

In recent years, new power plants have been built near Niagara Falls on both the US and Canadian sides. If you think about it, a waterfall this big would be used for hydroelectric power generation (I never thought about that until I learned about it, lol).

The electricity generated by the Niagara Power Plant was supplied to aluminum and other manufacturing plants, making the Niagara area the largest electrochemical industrial area in the United States. Knowing this, I think it adds a little more excitement to your visit to Niagara Falls. If you ever go sightseeing in Niagara Falls, please remember this.
