Solar Flares & IT's

April 11, 2023

In the current climate, it is said that "the IT industry is going to grow and grow and grow." In this article, we would like to discuss the possible future of the IT industry. In this issue, I would like to think about the possible future of the IT industry. I have been thinking vaguely that "IT is going to develop in the future. I will be working in the IT industry from next spring, so it will have to grow ... . But I was shocked when I saw a book titled "The Scientific Suitability of Jobs. In the book, the author says that you should not choose a job based on whether or not it is in an industry that is said to be growing in the future. This means that no one knows which industries will grow and which industries will decline in the next three to five years. Knowing this, I reflected on my assumptions and asked myself, "If the IT industry is going to decline, what are the causes? One possible cause was solar flares. One possible cause was solar flares.

A solar flare is an explosion that occurs in the sun. The explosions can be small or large, but the small ones occur several times a day. Solar flares release shock waves and plasma at the same time as the explosion. Sometimes they reach the earth and cause a magnetic storm, resulting in communication problems. Most of the effects of solar flares, such as communication problems, are said to be temporary, but in the case of a very large solar flare, electronic equipment may be damaged by the powerful magnetism, or communications may be completely stopped. In fact, 150 years ago, a big solar flare hit the Earth. In fact, a large solar flare occurred 150 years ago, but it did not cause much damage because electricity was not widely available at that time.

If a major solar flare were to occur today, as it did 150 years ago, and there were to be a major communication failure, such as a communication outage for several months, the concept of not knowing when data on electronic devices would become unusable would spread, and people would start using their smartphones and computers, but writing important things down on paper. I think people will start to write down important things on paper while using smartphones and PCs. If so, the IT industry may not go into decline, but it may not grow. (Sorry. I just said earlier that human predictions are unreliable, and yet I am predicting so much. ) This solar flare story is, of course, a "believe it or not ..." kind of thing. But we don't know what will happen to the IT industry, even if it is caused by something other than solar flares, and this applies to industries other than IT as well. It is worth keeping in mind that anything can happen in any industry.
